A Mind/Life Coach or a Therapist?

Mind/Life Coaches help their clients gain a fresh informed perspective to problems that are preventing them from achieving what they desire. Mind/Life Coaches offer new insights that help their clients to analyse deep rooted negative thought processes and subsequently get rid of them, in the process enabling them to achieve their desired goals.

However, Mind/Life Coaches do not, and must not treat mental health conditions such as past-life-related traumas, mood and anxiety disorders, addiction or other similar mental health conditions. It is for this reason that they neither require any formal academic training in that discipline nor do they need to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Unlike Life/Mind Coaches, therapists and other mental health professionals are licensed health professionals for whom it is mandatory to adhere to the ethical code and regulations with respect to confidentiality and ongoing education.

Although there could be some overlap in the benefits of working with a Mind/Life Coach and a licensed therapist, both have distinct roles and serve unique purposes. In short, Mind/Life Coaches must never be substituted for mental health professionals.
